• Reading comprehension 
  • Master a  nonfiction book.  Take notes (bullet points) of your opinion, connection, analysis, and inference from the book.
  • Present it to the entire class and invite your classmates for a dialogue.
  • Complete the winter reading assignment (fiction) and send your report in the required format using the Google Classroom. 
  • Learn vocabulary words from the book and use them in a sentence. 
  • Read and comprehend  science text materials. 

• Writing
  • Write book summaries based on your reading from fiction and nonfiction books.
  • Review grammar foundation.
  • Write a fiction story with correct grammar. 
  • Write a science summary based on data from a science experiment (data will be provided in the class). 

• Thematic learning
  • “Middle school Preparation” is the theme. Focus areas: time management, responsibility and ownership, organization, and study habits. 

•  One required online nonfiction fiction book  (parents will buy - total price ~$20 or get from other sources).
• Any fiction book of your choice from the library for the winter project. 
• Science articles (the teacher will provide) 
• Google Classroom (most of the assignments to be completed are in the Google classroom).
