•  Reading comprehension (non-fiction book and science and social science articles)
  • Master one prescribed nonfiction book (prescribed for this class)
  • Retell, form opinions, discuss, and draw conclusions (based on the book)
  • Create a vocabulary bank of your own and keep adding new words to it. 
  • Select a book for winter reading, read, and show how you comprehended your reading (for example - what thought process you and what opinions you formed)
  • Read and comprehend articles related to social, economic, and other disciplines, ind addition to science (teacher will provide the materials)
  • Winter reading - book selection (share the title of the book selected) 

• Writing 
  • Write a book summary using the steps provided. 
  • Science report writing (will be useful for writing reports based on science experiments either at school or science fair)

• Thematic learning
  • Students will enhance knowledge on a theme that comprises more than subject (interdisciplinary). The “themes” help students to think beyond the subjects.
  • We will discuss several themes and students will pick the theme that beyond the classroom.

• One nonfiction book prescribed by the teacher  (parents will buy or get price ~$15) (worth the money)
• Science, socioeconomic, and environment-related articles (the teacher will provide from GFL journal subscription). )
• Gates Notes (available on the Internet).
• Google Classroom (most of the assignments and exercises will be completed in the class itself).
