Total # of classes: 16  (classes will be spread across the year to give time for speech practice)

Course Fees: $200

•  The purpose of Public Speaking is to create an environment of confidence, pride, and self assurance that are essential to reduce stage fright.  Students will learn the principles of basic public speaking. Each element of public speaking will be learned and practiced step by step:
  • develop a script of the speech
  • Read the text fluently and give pauses wherever needed. Practice hard words. 
  • Read the text in front of the audience
  • use the same material to add speech elements
  • Learn and practice speech elements step by step; greeting the audience,  body language, eye contact, voice, pitch, and emphasis (stretching a word, pitch, word emphasis),  building an argument, and ending with connecting to the purpose of the speech topic. 
• Last year, most of the students who began with nervousness during the beginning of the class ended up giving a smooth speech. The key to success depends on implementing the techniques learned in this class in various settings. 

•  Course materials will be provided by the teacher.
• Practices will be online. The final speech delivery will be in actual classroom in front of the audience. 
• Constant feedback from the coach.
